happy thanksgiving

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving or perhaps simply a wonderful Thursday. Eat lots of turkey (if that's your thing), sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie, then pass out into a coma and when you awake maybe you'll be in the mood to do something crafty, like make a paper flower chandelier? Isn't this one from The Small Object so pretty and fun? Visit her post about it here for further inspiration. Have a great day!

Ah, I finally added new items to the shop! It feels long overdue. Check out the new HOLIDAY section and tell me what you think. I'll be adding more items to the shop in general over the next few weeks. I'll keep you posted. :)

photo shoot / sneak peak

Here's a peek into my latest photo shoot for the shop. My ikea kitchen table works well as a neutral background (as you may notice, it's in almost every picture I take!) and the big picture window in the kitchen gets the best light. The mornings are the best time to take photos, even on overcast days like today. In fact, overcast sometimes is better because it evens out the light and creates less shadows. Also, you're getting a sneak peek of some of my new holiday cards and tags. Stay tuned for a shop update which is coming very soon!

cinema sunday

Hello! Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. This weekend I'm taking a short break from the usual Cinema Sunday post and instead I bring you these movie previews for two upcoming films I'm looking forward to seeing in the theaters soon.

Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes? Brilliant!

Daniel Day Lewis in a screen adaptation of the stage musical adaptation of the Federico Fellini film 8 1/2 playing the role originated by Marcello Mastroianni (who I absolutely love, btw)? YES!

Are there any movies you're looking forward to seeing?

happy friday

I just got back from a long walk around town and it is a really beautiful day. Cool, crisp, very sunny. I love this weather so much, I wish it would last all winter plus some snowflakes every now and then. That would be perfection to me.

Well besides the walk, I've been mostly lounging around a bit taking a breather from all the high productivity from the past week. My back and neck are hurting from so much printing, I really needed a break from it for a day. I made a whole bunch of new holiday note cards which I shipped off to Craftland yesterday. So glad to have that done. I made some for my shop too but have yet to take photos of them so I can actually list them in the shop. Should have done that today but it will have to wait until tomorrow or Sunday.

Also this weekend I'm going to get back to printing because now it is only two weeks until BBB and, uhm, I don't really have anything made yet for it. So I will be hopping on that asap. As I work, I like to listen to This American Life or Fresh Air or other online radio archives or podcasts, they really help me focus and to not get bored while I print what feels like a gazillion cards. I wear headphones so I don't disturb my husband plus it sounds better. I swear, my level of productivity would be much much less without the radio.

The above photo is by Julius Shulman, renowned architectural photographer who passed away at the age of 98 this past summer. A documentary has been made about his life and work called Visual Acoustics. You can check out a preview here. Photo via the Canadian Center for Architecture.

Have a great weekend!
